Star Attendance Hub

Our school has been designated as an Attendance Hub by the Department for Education. As a lead hub school, we support around 60 secondary schools to improve pupil attendance rates by sharing effective practice and practical resources.

The school’s Star Attendance Hub is part of the government’s programme to improve pupils’ attainment and welfare by supporting schools to drive up attendance rates. The programme includes the expansion of its successful sector-led Attendance Hubs programme, alongside the expansion of Attendance Mentors in areas of the country with the highest levels of pupil absence.

Eden Boys’ School, Birmingham has consistently been ranked as one of the highest attended schools in the government’s national league tables. Our school follows Star Academies’ ‘Attend Like A Star’ strategy to manage attendance.

We believe that every single day matters in a pupil’s journey to becoming a happy, safe and well-educated leader in our schools and the wider community. Our goal is that all our pupils are supported to ‘Attend like a Star’, regardless of their individual circumstances or challenges. Our attendance strategy and the associated practical resources are available to members of the Star Attendance Hub through our online resource hub.

To join an attendance hub, schools must register first with the DfE who will assign schools to an appropriate lead school/trust. Schools assigned to our hub will be given access to the Star Attendance Hub portal.
