Welcome from the Principal

A very warm welcome to the Eden Boys’ School, Birmingham.

We are a Muslim faith based secondary school that opened in September 2015.

At Eden Boys’ School, Birmingham we aim to provide educational excellence. For us, this is a responsibility not only to achieve high academic standards, but also to foster a love of learning in our boys. It is our belief that this passion will carry our pupils to succeed in whichever road they choose to travel. We look forward to working with you to develop our boys, who will question without inhibition, who will embrace challenges without reluctance, and who will seek knowledge without fear.

We will be a school that will prepare our students for jobs that don’t yet exist, using technologies that have not yet been invented. Every two years, the volume of new technological information is doubling. Data is essential in today’s society, and at Eden we will teach our pupils to analyse, reason and reflect, giving them the skills needed to progress to the forefront of their respective fields and to be successful in an ever-changing world.

Our pupils will be born into the most diverse generation to pass and we are committed to promoting mutual respect, acceptance and most of all, understanding. At Eden Boys’ School, we will encourage a sense of social responsibility and our boys will be expected to play an active role in society. The school’s progressive and inclusive faith ethos will develop our boys into successful, grounded and compassionate leaders, who will cherish the multicultural society in which we live whilst maintaining the values and morals which are essential to all faiths.

This is a school which is also committed to individual, personal nourishment, including the development of an intelligent moral, spiritual and ethical compass which will help our boys to successfully navigate through the obstacles they may be faced with in life.

We have a culture of high expectations. We have a high powered academic curriculum, a varied enrichment programme and a strong emphasis on community service. We take a personalised approach, with each student having a set of aspirational, but achievable, targets. We promote fundamental British values and welcome applications from pupils of all faiths and none. We want every pupil – regardless of faith or background – to become a well-qualified, rounded British citizen who aspires to be the very best they can in all aspects of their lives.

The role of headteacher is, for me, a lifetime vocation. It is both a privilege and an opportunity to lead Eden Boys’ School, Birmingham. As educators, we engage with our pupils at the most critical phase of their transition from childhood to maturity. We receive them on trust from their parents and society and are under both a moral and a statutory duty to work in partnership to ensure that they realise their potential to become good and successful citizens. At Eden we will nurture innovation, vision and resilience. We will equip our boys with the skills that will help them to solve problems that we do not even know are problems yet. With your support our students can make the impossible, possible.
